At the end of the day, don’t we all just want to feel safe, comfortable, and stable?

Nonprofits do a lot of work to make the under-served feel safe, comfortable, and stable, but they often forget their staff in the process.

What are you saying about your team when you:

  • Don’t offer a 403(b) and/or don’t contribute to it
  • Don’t allow for plenty of sick days and time off
  • Are rigid when creating schedules
  • Pay the minimum salaries possible
  • Frown upon staff that show up and leave on time, instead of regularly putting in long hours
  • Don’t have retreats

Your mission is important. Your constituents are important. But so are your staff. Treat them like it.
