Do cobbler’s even exist anymore? Does anyone under 30 know what a cobbler is? Are you picturing a Keebler elf living in a shoe right now? Is it weird that I am?

So many questions.

Such is my life these days. It’s like there is a road in front of me with a lot of different paths. There are so many to choose from that I’m kind of immobile.

That’s not exactly true. I know vaguely in which direction I want to go. My problem is focusing on moving forward. Listen, I’m busy. I’m on the second draft of a book that I’m totally going to try to sell you in a couple months. I’m looking for a content marketing job. I’m trying to help my wife get a few business projects off the ground. I’m trying to eat less and exercise more. I’m trying to read more and write more. I’m trying to figure out my voice and my whole perspective on life.

So, this cobbler’s kid has no shoes. I want to be a content marketer that creates strategies and executes in a timely manner and uses best practices, and here I haven’t updated this blog in a long time. I’m currently writing a long and windy blog post about nothing. I’m the worst.

But all of this reminds me just how important focus is.

I used to have a colleague that would talk about how many time she “touched” something. Like, “I’ve touched this document 100 times, I just want it off my desk!” For the most part, I’m a master of not touching things too many times. If it takes a few minutes, I’m going to do it now. If it takes a long time, I’m going to set aside designated time for it. But I’ve let myself get into a funk, and it’s is ruining my mojo. Fuck the funk. I need to Warren Buffet this bitch. I did a mini-version of Buffet’s 2-list strategy today and feel like I got a lot more done today than I have in the past week. Man, there is nothing better than stiking things off your to-do list.

So I’m going to get back to it. I’m going to develop a strategy to move forward. Pinky swear.

What are you going to do? What’s standing in the way of what you want and what are you going to do to move past it?
